About Us
SocialTemp tracks aggregate sentiment of major cities, sports teams, and brands across a wide-variety of sources and puts this into a fun and easy to read “weather map” style user interface so that users can see what people are actually feeling over time from MLB/NHL/NFL vibes to “how did this news really affect people” information.
I believe SocialTemp solves a two-fold problem. Social media and news algorithms are built to keep you locked in and further your views. If you watch Fox News, you will get Fox News style reporting. If you watch CNN, you will get CNN style reporting. We all know what this means and it is a fact. I honestly believe that non-biased news does not exist any longer. So using this example, let’s say an event happens (choose your event) Fox News says “Trump Good” and CNN says “Trump Bad,” but what do the people say? Pop onto SocialTemp, and see if the “event” made it to even become a factor in any city’s population sentiment. In this way, I use SocialTemp as a way to get away from mainstream media, while still being able to see changes I might want to dig deeper into, all while utilizing the “weather map” style approach to change over time. A second problem I believe SocialTemp serves is in the sports category. I myself keep up with Hockey (-ish), but don’t keep up with football or baseball much. However, I like to bet or have fantasy leagues with friends for these leagues. I utilized the algorithm for analyzing city sentiment to create SocialTemp SportsVibe, which turns public conversations into news that I may want to see, without having 10 apps and having to scroll through feeds and news to see what is happening for a specific team. Currently, SportsVibe analysis can show which team has the better “vibe” from the same utilized sources as above to give a creative user interface (as described above). SportsVibe takes it one step further by analyzing historical and current data and providing the user (if interested) with how fan sentiment has predicted wins/losses. SocialTemp also includes SocialTempBrands which can provide insight on a specific brand, comparator brands, and analyzes public mentions to guide future business opportunities. Brands can use surveys that MAYBE someone will fill out, which will usually be only a subset of customers, or they can use SocialTemp Brands to see what people say anonymously about their brand.
