With our new home in Tulsa comes a bigger, better, and far more intimidating stage – and it doesn’t just trip up the newbies - even the returning players are feeling the nerves. And their challenge doesn’t make it any less stressful – they’ll need to detail 3 different pieces of technology that they will use to grow or scale a step of their funnel and explain how it will help them automate. With jitters flying, we see most of them reflecting afterwards on how they could have done better. The first Blox-Off winner may surprise you – but all the judges agree – this person understood the assignment. After the red jerseys are awarded to the top three teams, we check in with some OG contestants, chatting about work-life balance and the heavy responsibility of owning a business.

Day two kicks off with some new players sharing their thoughts on the Blox-Off, and we catch up with the pod winners at the breakfast of champions. Our second lesson dives into the link between inbound marketing and personal branding, and our old friend "build, measure, learn" makes a cameo too. The Correlation Between Inbound Marketing & Personal Branding

Today’s lesson delves into the intricacies of three fundamental marketing approaches: Interruption Marketing, Inbound Marketing, and Permission Marketing. Interruption Marketing is considered to be more traditional advertising methods, like radio ads, billboards, and TV commercials. On the other hand, Inbound Marketing introduces a more contemporary approach with podcasts, blogs, e-books, and free software, while Permission Marketing takes it a step further by obtaining contact information for continued engagement via newsletters, SMS reminders, and social media postings.

We explore the concept of "Buying Attention vs. Renting It," emphasizing how traditional methods like billboards or radio ads require ongoing payments for effectiveness. In contrast, building and maintaining lists, such as email or social media followers, offers a sustainable way to communicate with an audience at a fraction of the cost. Long-form content is important, whether in podcasts, blogs, or other mediums, and serves multiple purposes, including establishing thought leadership, solidifying brand messages, and building trust with customers. The step-by-step guide to dominating Inbound Marketing involves selecting a medium, creating remarkable content within that medium, studying the chosen medium and channels, and creating a bank of modular assets for versatile use. The cyclical process of Publish (also known as “build”), Measure, and Learn ensures continuous improvement and adaptation to audience preferences.

The lesson expands to Personal Branding, highlighting its similarities with Inbound Marketing, as both involve long-form inbound qualities and thought leadership. Personal branding adds credibility to the long-form assets a company creates, making it an essential aspect for entrepreneurs. Tools to showcase one's personal brand include various social media platforms, with a special highlight on LinkedIn. Social proof and press coverage are also effective means to build credibility and visibility. We want to aim for “Mindshare" – monopolizing a person's mental space in terms of expertise, emphasizing the impact of digital personal branding in achieving this. Networking is a valuable tool for personal branding when you prioritize the depth of relationships over quantity for more substantial and valuable connections.
