Your Offer is What is Holding You Back – Let’s Fix It (S24E4)

This Week On The Blox

The first-day jitters are officially behind us, and the Bloxers are about to find out that having a great product or service is only half the battle. This week, we're talking offers. Because you can have the best business idea in the world, but if you can't give people a compelling reason to say yes, you've got a problem.

Then it's time to put those lessons to the test in the next challenge, where the Bloxers will have to prove they understand what makes an offer stand out, sell, and ultimately grow a business.

The pressure is building, the competition is heating up, and one thing is becoming very clear: it's not enough to believe in what you're selling. You have to make your customers believe in it, too.

Take the Guesswork Out of Saying Yes

Customers are naturally cautious about where they spend their money, especially when they're trying something new. The more uncertainty they feel, the more likely they are to hesitate or walk away altogether. Offering guarantees, free trials, or satisfaction assurances can help remove those barriers and make purchasing feel like a safer decision. These strategies do more than ease concerns. They demonstrate that you believe in the quality of your product or service and are willing to back up that confidence with a meaningful promise.

Make Your Offer Worth More, Not Cost Less

Competing on price might attract attention, but constantly discounting your products or services can eat into profits and diminish their perceived value. A more sustainable approach is to enhance what customers receive. Consider adding complementary resources, exclusive benefits, bundled solutions, or personalized support that makes the overall experience more appealing. When customers recognize the additional value, they're more likely to see your offer as a worthwhile investment rather than another expense. The objective is to make your offer more compelling without compromising profitability.

Stop Assuming and Start Experimenting

Even the most thoughtfully designed offer has room for improvement. What you think customers want and what actually motivates them to purchase aren't always the same thing. Testing different messaging, pricing options, incentives, and offer structures helps reveal which elements influence buying decisions. By tracking results and using real customer feedback to guide adjustments, you can strengthen conversion rates and eliminate strategies that aren't delivering. Successful offers aren't created through guesswork. They're developed through ongoing experimentation and refinement.

Know Whether Your Offer Actually Makes Financial Sense

An offer that generates plenty of sales isn't necessarily generating healthy profits. To understand whether your strategy is sustainable, you need to look beyond revenue and examine the numbers driving your business. Customer acquisition cost (CAC) reveals how much you're spending to gain a new buyer, while customer lifetime value (CLV) estimates the revenue that customer generates throughout their relationship with your company. Understanding these metrics helps you make smarter decisions about pricing, marketing budgets, and growth opportunities. Because increasing sales only matters if the economics behind those sales support a healthy business.

Create Offers for Every Stage of the Relationship

Your customers don't all need the same thing at the same time, so your offers shouldn't treat them as though they do. Someone discovering your business for the first time may need an easy, low-commitment introduction, while an existing customer might respond better to an upgrade, loyalty incentive, or exclusive opportunity. Creating offers for different stages of the customer journey allows you to build trust, encourage repeat purchases, and increase long-term customer value. Rather than focusing exclusively on winning the initial transaction, think about how each offer can strengthen the relationship and create opportunities for future growth.

Kelby McCan
Kelby McCan
Real Estate Development, Serial Entrepreneur and Actor

Kelby McCan has built his life around helping people feel safe when the stakes are high. At 20 years old, he was selected for Air Force Special Warfare Pararescue, beginning a 10-year career that took him across four continents rescuing military personnel and civilians affected by natural disasters. Years later, Kelby found himself on the other side of a crisis. Just two months after purchasing a home in Port Aransas, Texas with his wife and newborn daughter, Hurricane Harvey devastated their property. During the rebuilding process, they discovered that portions of the home had been sold to them with unpermitted dwellings that couldn’t legally be rebuilt. With a mortgage to pay and rental income suddenly gone, Kelby returned overseas to contract in Africa while his family stayed behind. That experience changed the trajectory of his career. Determined to make sure other families had someone protecting their interests during one of the biggest purchases of their lives, Kelby studied real estate while overseas and became an agent. His mission was simple: provide the honest, relentless representation he wished his own family had received. The approach resonated. In his first year, Kelby represented a $2.2 million home and later secured contracts totaling $15 million in properties over a four-month period. Today, Kelby serves the Port Aransas market with the same mindset that defined his military career: protect the people who trust you, stay calm when things get complicated, and never quit when someone is counting on you. For Kelby, real estate isn’t just about selling property. It’s about making sure his clients never feel like they’re facing the biggest decisions of their lives alone.
